Vision Statement

Our music curriculum aims to provide all students with a high-quality music education which engages and inspires them to develop a life-long love of music, increases their self-confidence, creativity, and imagination, and provides opportunities for self-expression and a sense of personal achievement.

Intent Statement

At Hornsea Burton and Skipsea Federation, our intent is to build a Music curriculum which develops learning and results in the acquisition of knowledge and improved well-being; and promotes a love of music and singing across a broadened curriculum.

The aims of Music are:

• To develop music vocabulary in a meaningful way that is enjoyable and accessible to all pupils.

• To provide children with a balanced and broadly-based music curriculum which is underpinned by Global Citizenship, Wellbeing and Aspirational values.

• To stimulate and encourage children’s interest in and appreciation of music in the wider world and making it meaningful.

• To inspire children to have a life-long enjoyment of making and listening to music.
